“We have always tried to reach people who are a bit faraway. We do this all the time, obviously, bringing the word of God as well as some medicines and food. We try to make them understand also how important it is to be in the presence of the Lord, always carrying the Gospel, the Good News. We even managed to bring back to the Catholic some people who had left her. My wish is to train… to train well the delegates, the groups, and also to strengthen their life of faith, to renovate this temple, so that we may reclaim a bit of the past, and breathe new life in this small community, forgotten by so many. As missionaries and religious, we try every day to empower this community, give it life again, helping people who really need it.”

Father José Álvarez, M. K. (Kardimissio Missionaries of Saint John Eudes)

Texiguat parish priest Enclaved in one of the poorest areas of Honduras, Texiguat is a small village where the pastoral work of the Church brings hope to children, women, and men. In a region with such limited social services and resources, the charity work of the Catholic Church becomes essential for the survival of some of the most vulnerable members of society. Education and modest medical assistance are part of the Church’s services, but most of all, it is the preaching of the Gospel what makes a difference in the lives of the Honduran people of this region.
